Microsoft announced this weekend that PerfomancePoint Server will no longer be a standalone product. Customers who already have a SharePoint license are allowed to implement PPS as well to complete their BI infrastructure.

This means that:
a. PPS will be part of the SharePoint Enterprise CAL
b. PPS can now be installed at no additional cost
c. Microsoft will no longer invest in the standalone PPS
