I blog about this error just as reminder for myself (and hopefully you also think it is helpfull). At the moment I’m building Infopath 2007 forms for a customer and I want to read from a database that is on a SQL server. At the database I made a SQL account to connect with and in Infopath I got the following error:

“Login failed for user ‘username’. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.”

It has to do with the authentication method of the SQL server. I had to change it from Windows authentication to SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode.

  1. SO how did you do this, is there a config modifcation (new bie question)

    TIA,
    Mike

  2. Mike, In SQL server you can change the authentication method of the server. This can be changed anytime you like. Start SQL management studio, go to the properties of the server (rightclick server) in the left pane. Don’t exactly know which tab you need but here you can change the authentication of the server.
